Pizza Lovin’
We’ve got a new restaurant in town. Well, actually we’ve got a zillion new restaurants in town and more on the way….the Bubble dwellers do NOT stop going out to eat during a recession, apparently. Anyway, the restaurant I am referring to is Pizza Fusion. Do you have one? I hope so….because it is fantastic!
Pizza Fusion is a green company. They operate out of LEED certified buildings, they deliver their food in hybrid cars and the menu is 75% organic. They use only all natural ingredients and products — this includes all the beverages, so no Coke or Pepsi products, but you can get Boylan natural soda, organic juice for the kiddies and organic wine for the grown-ups! They also serve a line of pizzas, brownies and beer that are gluten-free and have vegan pizza with soy cheese, too. Thier multi-grain crust (which is NOT gluten-free) is delicious. There are a myriad of delicious salads and other things on the menu, too.
As for the restaurant itself, the counter top is made from recycled glass bottles. The toilet in the bathroom has dual flush capacity (you know….for #1 vs. #2)! The pen you get to sign for your check is made from recycled paper. This place means business and really stands behind its environmental mission. It’s like Disney for the Turningreen family! (Eh, not quite….but it’s cool, I tell ya’!)
The servers are also encouraged to tell you at least two things about the eco-friendliness of the restaurant that you might not otherwise know. I like that — it’s more “in your face” than just hoping you’ll notice all the cool stuff they are doing. And it’s how I know that they use old blue jeans to insulate their walls!
If there is a Pizza Fusion near you, find out ASAP, because they are doing all sorts of cool stuff for Earth Week from April 18th – 22nd. Free food, free reusable bags, contests, wine promotions……check it out!

DARN! That is one place we don’t have. The Red Robin is ready to open their doors where Smokey Bones used to be. We are seeing a huge turn over in eateries… Maybe Pizza Fusion will come to town soon….
Very cool stuff over here! Shoes, pizzas and “L”s!! LLLLove it! (-:
I am also a fan of the latin dance moves – Love to cha cha!
Those shoes were super cute, by the by. Am pondering writing a blog but I have so many good blogs to read by my xanga pals!
I want to go to there!
I can’t find any evidence of a Pizza Fusion in Portland, which is odd. It sounds right up Portland’s alley. Actually, since it’s a franchise, it’s probably more up Portland’s western suburbs’ alley. But still. I am a tad leery of any restaurant that will serve something with soy cheese, but I admire their greeniness. I would happily take the opportunity to admire their pizza, should the opportunity arise (in some city other than Portland, perhaps).
You have no idea how happy you just made me! I know where I’m eating this weekend!
I’ve already called them….I think I entertained the person who answered the phone. Me: “Do you REALLY have gluten free pizza?” Her: “Yes, you can have a whole gf meal here!” Unfortunately, they don’t deliver to me since I live 10 miles away…. but my husband might deliver it for me. I don’t know how many times I’ve said that all I want is a hot gluten free pizza delivered to my door!
I’ve been wanting to try that place, and am sooo happy to know it’s gluten free too!
@maayana - I was thinking of you and ordinarybutloud when I wrote about the GF factor. How cool for a pizza place, eh? I can’t say I sampled the GF crust…..but everything I have tasted there (in my two visits) has been top notch. I hope you enjoy it – let me know what you think!!
I loved it!
@maayana - I am so glad! If you eat in the restaurant and complete a survey, you get some awesome buy-one-get-one free coupons, too!
We have the best Pizza here in Italy
@HenningBiland - I completely agree! If only it were easier for me to get there!
