• An Airy Post

  There has been a lot of introspection and contemplating of life on several of the other blogs that I love to read on Xanga.  And since I believe that my blogger friends deserve a break from the heavy thinking….I’m going to keep it light and fluffy here.  Light and fluffy, folks, light and fluffy.

  Let’s start with a hysterical kid conversation:

  Daughter:  Look at that guy running without his shirt on!

  Son:  Boys can run shirtless.  When they get older.  Like teenagers.

  Daughter:  Yeah, they can run shirtless.  In slow motion.  Through corn fields.

  OK, moving on.  Several weeks ago, I purchased a pot of mixed plants for the front porch from Costco.  It was a good deal and it was lovely.  I have not killed it yet!  The absence of death and decay is light and fluffy, is it not?

  This past weekend, the Mr. took our son on a camping trip with a large group of fathers and sons.  Since the boys were gone, our daughter asked if I would take her to Colonial Williamsburg for a “girls weekend.” So that’s just what we did, and here are some blog worthy photos we took.

  We stayed here, right on Duke of Gloucester Street in the heart of it all:

  

  That’s our daughter sitting on the porch, wearing the requisite colonial sun hat.

  These pictures are from the courtyard behind our lovely little house.

  

  

  

  Here is a duck swimming in the pool at the main hotel.  (Please note, it is not authentically colonial to have a chlorinated in-ground swimming pool in your yard.  The duck adds an air of the colonial, I think.)

  

  Here is the toilet that Blackbeard the Pirate may have used when he was incarcerated in Colonial Williamsburg before his execution.  This was quite entertaining to our 8 year old daughter (the toilet, not the execution) and would have sent our 6 year old son into convulsive laughter, had he been in attendance.

  

  Here is a colonial dude, as our daughter so eloquently put it.
  

  And finally, here is the daughter, in a quiet moment….and I am certain that her thoughts were light and fluffy as I snapped the photo.
