My Two Cents
This whole Chik Fil A thing reminds me of when the Mr. was filling out his application to become a naturalized citizen of the U.S. He was asked to answer a question as to why he was eligible to seek citizenship, and given the following options:
- are your parents citizens? (yes)
- are you married to a citizen? (yes)
- have you lived here longer than X years (yes)
- are you the parent of a citizen (yes)
One of these items alone would have qualified his application, so the rest (while applicable) were really superfluous.
Our family doesn’t eat at Chik Fil A because:
- the food is total crap
- the crap food is fried in peanut oil
- the owners are close minded, ignorant homophobes
See what I mean? Never went before, not going now. Doesn’t really matter which box we check.

Wait…why was your husband not already a citizen if his parents were citizens?
@transvestite_rabbit – They were naturalized before him – he didn’t want to do it as a teen, so finally got around to it in adulthood.
@turningreen - Are you sure he’s not really a spy?
I like your reasoning.
@transvestite_rabbit - I wondered if Mr. OBL was a spy for years. He comes from a small west Texas town and he speaks Russian. See what I mean? @turningreen - I despise Chik-Fil-A. Always have, always will. I think their cow commercials are not completely unbearable, though.
People will be leery of non citizens just like they will be leery of non Christians.
I wonder will people bring up being leery about being Mormon? Folks of that religion does not disqualify them from being FBI agents but folks of Islamic background bring up red flags.
People hire gays if they are not real big asshats. So far Chick-fil-a only have bigotted cows, I suppose contributing to anti gay causes is not bigotry but just a choice?
Fried chicken does not bother me as much as undercooked chicken. Undercooked chicken is more dangerous than fried chicken because when the outer part looks cooked the inside definitely is cooked when fried.
Give me range feed chickens, like range fed cows there is an added plus when fed that way.
