Bloomin’ Bubble!
We took a trip south to the beach for a week and returned to peak blooming season here in the Bubble! For those of us experiencing seasonal allergies (the Mr.) this is not necessarily a positive, but for those of us who have found the right cocktail of allergy meds (me) it sure is pretty.
As we traveled south down I-95, we started to notice yellow pollen covering the cars – mostly those that were heading back north. We knew we were entering the yellow dust zone, but were still surprised to see this view from the balcony of our beach side condo:
There was an “ocean creek” running through the dunes and the pollen seems to have gotten locked in that little inlet. When we first arrived, even the waves breaking at the shore had a yellowish haze to them.
By the time we left South Carolina, our car was covered. From the looks of things here, the cars will both be yellow for the next week or so.
There was no recycling in our high-rise condo building at the beach! Grrrr. Don’t worry, we hauled all our cans and bottles out with us and will recycle them here.
The unpacking is in progress, but it isn’t so bad since we had a little washer/dryer in our unit and the kids were so sandy that we had no choice but to do a load of laundry each evening. Our son is so in love with the sand that he can’t help but roll around in it every time he gets wet. He looks like a little breaded chicken cutlet when he’s done.
I leave you with the view from our condo’s balcony. It’s good to be home, but I do miss the beach air already. The sand….not as much!

Beautiful! I’m going to the Outer Banks this summer. Is that anywhere near where you were? I’m not good with east coast beaches. Where is Amelia Island? I’m not going there.
@ordinarybutloud - Outer Banks is off the northern coast of NC, we were on the northern coast of SC. We’ve been to Outer Banks several times. I think Amelia Island is a barrier island near Virginia Beach. Haven’t been there. You’ll love Outer Banks. Message me where you’re going — Duck? Corolla?
You made me laugh and recall my own breaded cutlets! I would make them strip in the garage and hose them off before they could come inside… of course it wasn’t beach sand! We eventually “donated” a couple bags of sand to the neighbors for their sandbox – felt like mine had been majorly responsible for the deficit!
That’s a view and a half.
I hate sand.
